The BIG JOHN Gopher is designed to minimize the time and cost of staking large quantities of trees. Easily mount it to your skid steer or other power unit and set thousands of stakes per day. Using the Gopher will save your time and your money.
Rather than climbing a ladder and hand driving stakes in, the Gopher’s hydraulic stake drives into the ground to make a hole for the stakes. The Gopher allows you to carry multiple stakes in the hopper and place in the trees as you go with a ride-along worker.

Our history with spades runs deep with the original idea for a tree spade from John May. He invented and patented a tree spade with curvilinear towers and four spoon shaped blades that lead to the first BIG JOHN models. Today, we constantly improve on that original design with innovative changes directly influenced by the needs of our customers. We designed our first spade from start to finish—and do the same today.
